Energy Saving FreeCooling

With the application of TCI’s FreeCooling™ the efficiency of the majority of chilled water systems can be greatly improved saving substantial amounts of energy.

Payback is outstanding and can be in as little as 4-6 months with vast savings thereafter.  Where the terms and conditions are met end users can apply for Carbon Trust loans for the purchase of the equipment.

The extremely high energy efficiency of TCI’s air blast coolers, relative to chillers, means that low ambient air temperatures may be taken advantage of and, wherever possible throughout the year, the refrigerated chiller can be totally or partially offloaded.

Please see our FreeCooling™ flyer for further details of the system and example energy savings.

Transtherm FreeCooling showing energy saving

Relative power consumption when using Transtherm's  FreeCooling technology

This clearly shows the relative power consumption of Transtherm’s FreeCooling technology and air blast cooler, operating from 0°C to 20°C ambient air temperature, compared to that of a chiller. Please note that both stage control and inverter control are shown, (inverter represented by the curved line). Transtherm’s FreeCooling technology can also be fitted retrospectively to existing air blast coolers.
